There are times when we need a little reminder and to put things in proper perspective. I know the Love in Alan, and the Love in Linda, and the Love in Jonna; and the Love in all; and I know that with each one that should it be time for any one who's graced this place with their presence leave this realm of the flesh, all would trade their understanding or lack thereof, or their particular method of expressing their Love and giving reason for the hope they have in their heart for the opportunity to have that one among us again. This desire to trade all of our beliefs, our ideals, our religion, our interpretations and our holy books for the sake of being in the presence of and sharing this experience we commonly refer to as 'life' with another soul on this planet and in this realm is LOVE. And this Love is here in all and though not always expressed or acknowledged, it is there none the less. It is the silence or the 'space' by which all things are free to live and move and be, and without it would nothing be.

Many people were going to see an elephant which was on display in a dark house. Since seeing with the eye was impossible, each one was feeling it with the palm of his hand. One felt the trunk, saying "it's like a water pipe!" Another touched the ear: "it's like a fan!" Another felt the leg: "it's like a pillar!" Another felt it's back: "it's like a throne!" Whatever any of them heard about the elephant they understood in light of the part he had touched. Because of their diverse experiences their speech was contradictory: one called the elephant "straight" another "crooked". If the light had been turned on the differences would have disappeared. The eye of sense-perception is limited like the palm of the hand: it has no capacity to encompass the entirety... To the extent that we are able to receive unveiled light we may behold with the eye of the vast Ocean of Reality that which is now hidden from the eye of phenomena.....Rumi (Nicholson, 1926).

Alan, I LOVE Wordsworth's poetry....or at least the one long one I read when I was 17 and still in high school. Have you read "Ode on Intimations of Immortality" by him?? It resonated so deeply in the heart of my being that I typed it up and put it into my family-photo album, in the back, along with other things.
